Chris Modeen - Dinosaurio

Chris Modeen makes odd folk music with a real pop edge. His home recorded "Dinosaurio" is mainly acoustic guitar and various takes of his vocals. He has a Kev MF King, or Modest Mouse vibe, but with a darker vocal sense.

Shale track review - III

Shale's track "III" off of their eponymous debut is a slow burning and beautiful song. It sounds a little like Karate, Gastr Del Sol and American Analog Set. Pretty harmonics and violins accessorize this weighty tune, which swells and becomes fat with saturation at the end. Thunderous and brilliant drums blast out and settle with dual vocal melodies.
It is worth noting that this band features former members of Fugue and midi.
Beautiful album art to boot!

The Park - Perilous video

The Park Music (Parker Hu) has a lovely new video out for the song "Perilous" from her LP "Time and Place". Check out the clip below, which was directed by Zack Wussow.

No - "Can You Dig It?"

Creating an underground sensation and taking it across the country, three piece NO play a mixture between punk rock and something that sounds like it came from the 1980’s underground.

Buck McGrane - Grazie Mille

"Buck McGrane plays sad songs that make you feel good." - Dan from Pools are Nice. That's all it says on the bio part of Buck McGrane's Bandcamp. I don't know if I agree that the songs are sad but they CERTAINLY make you feel good.

KINGS - "WE ARE" Video

Kings are working on some new music, and to start teasing us about it here is an amazingly awesome video for "We Are". The video is by Sarah Lasley who intends on making a video for every song from a new song cycle that John Panos is working on, which will probably end up as an LP. This is a video you don't want to miss! Beneath the video are links to the soundcloud for the song "We Are" and its possible 7" bside "You Don't Have To (Txt Me)"
