Vetiver is the main group of Andy Cabic, the lead guitar player and only consistent member of Devendra Banhart Band. Vetiver also features drummer Otto Hauser from Espers. The band is named after the grass, vetiver. Their music has been described as "surreal," "lullingly pleasant," "tender and accessible" and "quirky and warm."
Also on the bill is Conneticut's own Diamond J and the Rough. From their bio: "Now with a full band and full sound, Diamond J and the Rough are no longer a fledgling group, having played shows up and down the East Coast with the likes of The New Amsterdams, Wolf Parade, Dashboard Confessional, Brand New, Mates of State, Dustin Kensrue, and The Figgs. Their catalog of songs continues to grow, even more so as the band prepares to record an LP in the near future."
Also, another Connecticut native, Kath Bloom. Kath has been making music since the late 70s, and has had her music featured in the movie Before Sunrise by Richard Linklater. Kath's album Finally, released on Chapter Music in 2006, is the first record she has put out since 1984, aside from her own self-released CD-Rs and cassettes. Now Kath plays with her band Love At Work, including longtime collaborator Tom Hanford and husband Stan Bronski.
