From Tyler Trudeau:

On SATURDAY, OCT. 24, the Tyler Trudeau Attempt will be playing at the Annex at Windham Arts Barn in Willimantic, CT. This show is being put on by Against All Odds Productions. I played solo at a show they put on earlier this summer, and it was a blast; they've also filmed live footage of dozens of regional bands and have a deep love of local music. This time we're playing a show for them as a full band. Also on the bill are Bunnies and Sleepwell. It's an all-ages show and it'll be a good hang.

Liz Durrett

Athens, GA superpower Liz Durrett will be playing Cafe Nine with Laura Zax. They both play beautiful electric folk songs. I've been listening to Durrett for quite some time, and she's got a great voice. Check this show out, because something like this doesn't come around very often.

Old Canes is Chris Crisci's of The Appleseed Cast's Americana side project. They play foot-stomping roots music and it's a lot of fun to listen to. Their new album, "Feral Harmonic" will be released Oct 20 on Saddle Creek Records.

Baby Grand are a group of CT-based folk rockers. They're a Hot Air Press band, and feature members of other CT bands Jettison, Hostage Calm, & Make Do and Mend.

Blues Control and Estrogen Highs

Blues Control hits Bar in New Haven with New Haven natives Estrogen Highs on Sunday Oct. 18th. You'd have to be insane to miss this. Blues Control puts rock through a blender and then runs it through a couple of distortion pedals. Estrogen Highs crams rock, rock, rock and catchy vocals down your throat. I've heard they are one of the best live bands in CT so this isn't one to miss.

Death To New England is former Battlecats members Sean Beirne and Jimmy Jude with Blaz from Lamb Bombs on drums. They serve up a soulful Stooges brand of ball kicking rock 'n' roll. Chariots of Tuna jangle their way into your hearts with shimmering indie pop. Us locals all know and love The Sawtelles. They're your friendly lo-fi indie pop soundtrack to a trip to the farmer's market.

Murder by Death @ Daniel St

Murder by Death are the kind of band that can get me into drinking straight whiskey. It is a mix of the country and rock with narrative lyrics comparable to your favorite murder mystery. Id put this band in my "Black keys and other bands that made me wish I was born in the South" playlist. Kiss Kiss will be opening and even tho they're not a traditional "indie" band missing them would be a mistake.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Langhorne Slim was added to the bill! A folk singer originally hailing from Langhorne, Pennsylvania, he began to gain public notice through several years of touring with the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players and an appearance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. He'll be performing as a full band at this show.
