I was sorta hoping to find a leak of Massa Hypnos online, the new Awesome Color due out in April, before posting about this show. I need to fess up - I've never really liked Awesome Color as much as I should, but wanted to hear the new record in the hopes it'd be as sick as rumored. Electric Aborigines might have been as red hot as a sword in the forge, but listening to that record always jazzed me up to go back to some Stooges. Despite my bias, I know that this is a band that must be experienced live. I read today in the paper that the earthquake in Chile actually tipped the Earth's axis, causing our days to become 1.26 microseconds shorter. But no worries, we can expect Awesome Color to sonically redistribution enough of the Earth's mass to correct this problem, probably after the first or second song of their set. There is a small risk of Cafe Nine being reduced to rubble, but we're talking about saving the Earth here, guys, so deal with it.

Tyvek is a different story. At least for me. I love it when a band bitches about the dumb shit normal people have to deal with. Tyvek is the workingman's lo-fi garage band. Their sound is what would have happened to The Black Lips if, instead of Los Saicos, they where raised on The Meatmen. Recommended.

And then of course one of my all time favorites Medication is opening. I better not get going again about why you need to buy This Town, just click over to the review.
